Your credit report and buying Fresno Real Estate go hand in hand… the better your credit score is the easier it will be to get the financing you need to purchase your next home. One of the ways you can maintain good credit is buy monitoring your credit report throughout the year to make sure you are not subject to identity theft where someone is using your name and credit to run up credit accounts you don’t even know about and SEVERELY damage your ability to obtain credit.

What I’m about to show you is how you can monitor your credit report for FREE!
No really… I’m not kidding.
I know there are a ton of companies out there with “catchy jingles” who are willing to give you a free credit report as long as you sign up for a trial service of some kind where you’ll eventually pay a monthly recurring fee if you don’t cancel the service.
You can get your credit report for FREE every 12 months with no strings attached because it is the law… I know, because I just did it and have implemented the strategy I discuss below.
So here’s what you do (and be sure to check out my “BONUS TIP” below before ordering your credit report)…
First, go to the FTCs (Federal Trade Commission) website via the link below to see that getting a FREE credit report every 12 months with no strings attached is not only possible but is the law and the source I refer you to below is the only authorized source. There is also other good tips and advice on the site as it relates to your credit.

Second, go to the website below (which if you went to FTCs website you now know is the ONLY authorized source for the free annual credit report that’s yours by law).

It’s a very simple process. Once at the website above in the middle of the page you select your state and then click on the “Request Report” button. Follow the steps and within minutes you’ll be able to view your credit report online and print it out for safe keeping. Instead of ordering a credit report from all Big 3 (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) you can spread it out and monitor what’s reported throughout the year.
BONUS TIP: If you use a calendar that allows you to setup recurring appointments such as Google Calendar or Outlook or other… don’t order all 3 reports at once. Instead order ONE report from each of the Big 3 every 4 months. This will allow you to monitor what’s reported on your credit throughout the year allowing you to catch any suspicious activity. Go into your calendar and setup a yearly recurring appointment for each spread out every 4 months. For example, every year order your Experian credit report on 7/1, order your Equifax credit report on 11/1 and order your TransUnion credit report on 3/1.
Make sense? If you have any questions feel free to post them in the comments section below.
I hope you find this information valuable… don’t forget to share it with people you know and love!
Take care,
John
